has created the first-of-its-kind assessment and benchmarking tool, RMH Compass Survey, that establishes a comprehensive way in which to measure workplace benefits. When building a new standard, it's essential to have a diverse and deeply-informed set of perspectives around the table, a clear process and defined goals throughout the process. With that in mind, in January 2023, we convened a group of experts and posed the question, “What are the ways employers can support the reproductive and maternal health of their workers?” Four core principles quickly emerged:1. Comprehensive, affordable and accessible reproductive and maternal health coverage2. Flexible supportive workplaces3. Transparent and clear communication of benefits that emphasizes employee confidentiality and data privacy4. Aligned political giving and transparencyThese four principles have been our north star over the last 12 months as we have built and tested the RMH Compass Survey.Curious to know how your company’s RMH benefits stack up? Take the RMH Compass survey - www.RMHCompass.org - to find out.#RMHCompass #reproductivehealth #maternalhealth #healthyequity #workerequity #hrbenefits

A new health policy brief from Health Affairs with support from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on the connection between underemployment and health outcomes shared #GSSdata that found that 1 in 10 workers is underemployed, with a concentration among non-White, younger, and often female workers. The brief found that different aspects of physical and mental health and well-being are affected when workers' actual hours are lower than their desired hours. Check out the brief here ➙t.ly/2DMT9

#EndometriosisAwarenessMonth isn’t just a buzzword to share on socials – it’s a learning opportunity for all💡In fact, for HR professionals and team leaders it should be an absolute necessity to understand and adapt approaches to this frequently misunderstood and underdiagnosed condition.Approximately 1 in 10 women of reproductive age worldwide are affected by endometriosis – 40% of those are worried it could threaten their job security, and nearly 1 in 5 will leave work permanently. Consider how that adds up in your workplace and how many colleagues could be potentially suffering from its debilitating symptoms 🤔But it takes just two things to support those affected by the condition – compassion and understanding. This could look like…💪 Allowing flexible working arrangements😷 Offering sufficient paid sick leave📚 Educating colleagues and managers📹 Check out my latest video for to find out what more you, and your team, could be doing👇#workplacewellbeing #womenshealth #endometriosisAlltoogether The Endometriosis Foundation Endometriosis South Coast Endometriosis UK Hertility

The Government’s recent Women’s Health Strategy set out ambitious plans to improve healthcare to support the unique needs of 51% of the UK population – women. The 2019 Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists report demanding “Better for Women” health care also caused employers to see a more confident insistence from female employees that their overall welfare needs are being met. The question therefore is, as a manager, how confident are you in dealing with women’s health in the workplace? The answer is probably not too confident at all if the recent analysis we conducted is correct. When interviewing female managers, only 18% were confident managing women’s health at the start of a course I ran but 100% were confident by the end. It is understandable that there is a lack of confidence without support. HR managers and line managers are up to their eyes in a never ending to do list and keeping up to speed with the changing government legislation and directives around women’s health issues could be a full time job in its own right. Ensuring that women are able to maintain their health and well-being while working however can have a significant positive impact on their productivity and job satisfaction so it really should be put higher up your priority list if you want to reduce the cost of losing valuable staff.Get in touch today if you are ready to provide meaningful support to women in your workplace. From the first phone call, we can talk about where you need help in your business, and work together to create a culture of understanding and openness.📱 0333 3582359📧 sarahc@halcyontherapies.co.uk💻 halcyontherapies.co.uk#productivity #health #menopause #menopauseawareness #menopausesupport #menopauseintheworkplace #periods #periodstruggles #womenshealth #womesnhealthmatters #endometriosis #adenomyosis #fibroids #womenhealth #halcyon #endo #endometriosisawareness #endometriosisworkplace #therapies #reiki #reiju #reikitreatment #womenshealthclinic

Unsurprisingly, employees are looking for fertility wellness benefits as highlighted by Hertilitys recent poll (who are doing great work in this sector!)Fertility wellness is an issue well worth championing in the workplace.🤷♀️ Why? For many reasons👉 1 in 6 of us will experience fertility difficulties throughout our lifetime. Thats a lot of people, most of which are in employment👉Employer support for employees trying to conceive has been found to contribute to a more equitable and productive workplace👉When people feel that the organisation they work for are willing to support them & invest in them, employee engagement increases👉Fertility benefits can be a powerful retention tool in organisations.Does your organisation offer fertility wellness support?Do you know what type of support they offer? Don't hesitate in asking about the fertility benefits that are available to see if your needs are covered. If the benefits are not comprehensive, be sure to share your thoughts with your organisation.Remember fertility benefits should not be merely limited to time off for appointments and financial assistance. Everyone who is trying to conceive should be supported by their workplace. This should also include nutritional and lifestyle support which is essential for all those who would like to start or grow their family.
